2025 Member Dinner

It was a beautiful day for our 2025 Mid Island Co-op Member Dinner! This year's event took place on Tuesday, October 21, at the Nanaimo Golf Club. We were joined by a total of 120 Members and guests for a sold out evening. 

The event kicked off with an introduction from current 1st Vice-Chair, Patrick Barbosa, and was followed up by a recap of community giving and allocation amounts from last year from 2nd Vice-Chair, Nicole Lewis. Afterwards, a buffet dinner was served courtesy of the Nanaimo Golf Club staff.

After dinner, William Litchfield from the BC Cancer Foundation spoke about the new cancer care facility that will be opening in Nanaimo in 2028. As part of our community giving, Mid Island Co-op has allocated $1 million split over five years to be put towards to completion of the facility. Once finished, the BC Cancer Centre will be able to support 20,000 radiation treatments per year, allowing patients in the Mid and North Island areas to access the care they need without having to travel to Victoria.
